The Toke Brothers Acoustic Retro Rock , Lancaster Pa

Happy New Year to all our Tokesters and Tokettes. 2011 was a great year for the Toke Brothers. After a four year absence from the music scene, the band developed it’s act and hit the road. “ What a long strange trip it’s been”. Actually, it was long fantastic trip; the band played at quite a few of the local watering holes; Stubbies, Bubes Brewery, Prudhommes, Union Station, The Dutch Maid, Zias, Nathans, Micks All American, Farmers Hope Inn, The Caribbean Inn, the Brasserie, The Lucky Dog and Beannies, as well as private parties and community events.2012 promises to be a great year as well. The Band begins the year at Prudhommes on Jan 14 and as a duo at the Union Barrel on Jan 27. Prudhommes is a great place to catch the band. It is unique in atmosphere and you can’t beat the Cajun Cuisine! Check this video for a preview. THE CANCER RELAY BENEFIT AT PRUDHOMMES Hello Tokesters and Tokettes On Dec 3, The Toke Brothers got to participate in the Cancer Relay Benefit at Prudhomme’s on Fourth St. Sharon and the Cancer Relay Team set up a wonderful program. Providing the entertainment were the great Paul Zavinsky and Kirby, Pennsylvania Senior Idol Peggy Kurtz Keller, Ric Emery, Eric & Loura Keepers, Comedians Randy Frito Ness and Tom Sanford, as well Bill Anderson and His Invisible Band and the Toke Brothers Trio! My brother Woody and I are family men and decided we wanted to make time at the holidays for our families. Woody brings a lot of talent and experience to the trio. He plays lead guitar, bass and harp and he can sing all night! Woody has a personality thing going. He is humorous, innovative and imaginative. He has played in a variety of groups over the years. Besides cutting timber in Minnesota , he has managed to acquire a phd. Yes , I know; B.S. bullshit, M.S. more shit, PHD , pile it high and deep ! TOKE FAMILY REUNITED !!!! After a string of amazing coincidences, the impossible has happened. Our Toke Family has been reunited following the miraculous appearance of " WOODY TOKE". Woody, a tall lumberjack known throughout the wild northern forests of Minnesota, was injured in a bizarre accident in which a tree trunk kicked back and crushed his right arm. While recovering he decided to trade his lumber axe for a Ibanez axe. While in rehabilitation, a visiting nurse, noticed an unusual cannibis shaped birthmark on his chest. She quickly informed him, " I just read in Rolling Stone, that PaPa Toke and his Cousin Bill are looking for the missing Toke, a gifted guitarist" " It says here that all men from Toke clan have the same birthmark you have ! " Woody was stunned ! Soon, he packed his bags and caught a Greyhound for Lancaster. Arriving at the Toke Mansion he stood in a long line of aspiring singer guitarists. When his turn came his leads stood out , but even more shocking were his golden throated harmonies. Cousin Bill shouted out, " only a true Toke can blend his voice so perfectly" ! "... "I am a true Toke" with this he revealed the famous TOKE BIRTHMARK ! Within the first half hour we produced a 90 second teaser video, a prelude to so much more.
